Bishops Heir likely to prevail in the Coca-Cola Handicap Chase
Bishops Heir is likely to dominate proceedings in the Coca-Cola Handicap Chase at Ayr in England on Friday, March 9, 2012. The winner of the class-3 event will be awarded with cash prize of £5,653.
The going is expected to be heavy in the 3 mile 1 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 5:05 GMT. A total of six entries have been attracted towards the event and their names are: Bishops Heir, Morgan Be, Et Maintenant, Rolecarr, Merigo and Heez A
Steel.
James Ewart’s trainee, Bishops Heir, has been in very good form recently, thus the bookmakers have shown strong faith in him. The punters will also be expecting him to fight for victory and will be placing a lot of bets on him.
The seven-year-old gelding has entered five chase races, winning one of them. Other than that, he has also finished runner up and third on the same number of occasions. He is well aware of the conditions at Ayr, as his previous outing was at the same venue.
The favourite runner for today’s event brought up his maiden victory while chasing in his most recent outing, thus he has extremely good chances of winning yet again. He will have to be at his best though, as heavy conditions might cause a few problems for
him.
Bishops Heir will be partnered by Brian Hughes, who has won 90 chase races, but does not have an impressive strike rate. He will be working hard to improve that area in order to become one of the best in the business.
Rolecarr, trained by Ann Hamilton, is also one of the runners to watch out for today. He has been victorious in chase races on a couple of occasions, out of seven attempts. Other than that, he ended runner up once and also has a couple of third place finishes
to his name.
The nine-year-old gelding has also been doing a terrific job in recent times, which will encourage the punters to place some bets on him. He will be ridden by Ryan Mania, who has earned 35 victories while chasing.
The remaining participants do not really seem to be in a good position to win, thus the real battle will be between Bishops Heir and Rolecarr.
