Bissell Pro-Heat Pro-Tech Carpet Cleaner

Question

Took part my carpet cleaner. When reassembling I can't get the smart mix plunger and smart mix dial to line up properly. So that when the cover is screwed down the smart mix dial doesn't turn to the setting as it should. How do I postion the plunger and dial to close and secure the cover?
