I have a Trekstor iBeat Emo. I recently downloaded a song to it. Whenever I play the song, the screen shows the bit rate as VIB instead of 128 or 96 kbps. Is this a different type of bit rate?

  1. probly mean Variable Bit Rate..........just means the bit rate is jumping around probly between 96-192 ?

  2. It means variable bit rate - in other words the bit rate isn't fixed, but varies throughout the song.

Variable bit rate gives better sound quality for a given file size than using a fixed bit rate such as 128kbps, but not all MP3 players can handle it.
