Bit Torent Seeding?????

I have just downloaded a movie which has taken forever and now for the last 10 or more mins it has said Seeding. What does that mean

seeding uploads bit and pieces of the file you just download to another person. basically it's sharing the file you just downloaded and as a rule of thumbs you should at minimum seed at a 1:1 ratio or more. if you don't seed at all you get banned from some trackers and sites and won't be able to download from them again.

It means you are no longer downloading and are just uploading to anyone else who may want the file
