Bit torrent wont work?

Question

So i used bittorrent a few times last year, i prefer to just buy the album. Anyway i really want to download a few albums as my itunes was wiped after reformatting my computer. My problem is that the album downloads WONT start, i have one that has started which is telling me it'll take a week to finish. I don't have a monthly download limit or anything and my firewall is turned off. What could the problem be? Thanks

bit torrent works on how many seeders there are. which means the file you are trying to download doesnt have enough sources. because other people arent seeding. seeding is pretty much how many people are sharing the file the more people sharing the faster it will be. also its preffered to have high speed internet. its not so fast with dial up. i learned the hard way. hope this helps in any way.

you need to pick torrents with a decent amount of seeds and a good seed:leech ratio

other than that, port forwarding can help speeds. But if the seeds arent there, there are no sources, so not much you can do. Pick torrents with seeds and it should be fine.
