Bitcomet what is Seeding??

Question

To download stuff, i always use isohunt.com and download that stuff with Bitcomet. Next to the download comments it says seeds. I also noticed that alot of the comments were asking for people to seed. What is Seeding?

Bittorrent is based on a seeding/leeching principle.  A leecher is a person who is receiving the file and a seeder is supplying the file.  Once your d/l completes you go from being a leecher to a seeder and are now a confirmed source of the file.  Seeding helps keep the file alive so others can d/l it too.  It is considered proper to give back as much as you took, so seeding to a ratio of 1.00 is encouraged so that others can get the file too.
