Bite plate?

Question

i have a bite plate behind my top upper front teeth with my braces. i HATE iT!! i went a whole 10 months without this stupid thing and all of a sudden i need it.... WHY!?!?!? will my teeth rot since i can't brush where its at? HOW AT ALL DOES THiS FiX MY OVERBiTE? they say it prevents me from knocking the bottom brackets off, but like i said i WENT 10 MONTHS AND iT WAS FiNE!! help me! can i tell them i don't want it?

hey,

if your dentist reccomends it then theres probbly another reason why (he/she) wants you to wear it. you can ask them whether your teeth will rot and what they suggest on keeping clean. by the sound of it if you have gone ten months without it then that is a bit strange but if you have a problem with it you can refuse one. they are doing this for you so your the boss! anything you dont want they HAVE to follow!
