Bitstream thru HDMI?

can i run bitstream thru HDMI ,thur my reciever to get true 7.1 ?Or is it the uncompressed setting i am needing?or optical cables for bitstream?

  1. You need HDMI 1.3a to send UNCOMPRESSED signal to a receiver.   And UNCOMPRESSED PCM settings in you your front end.
