so i've noticed i have a bitter taste in my mouth today. more so when i licked my lips. it's like a chemical, metallicy taste. i've tried doing research online but i'd like some input from others... i'm currently taking lexapro(medication for anxiety) 2 months ago i had wisdom teeth removed & a decayed tooth removed. i now feel another tooth is aching , discolored. it's a possible bad cavity. are these the reasons? is it dangerous?? i'm 21, nervouis & paranoid about this.. the more i read things online the more freaked out i get.... honest input please. WHAT COULD IT BE??? anyone else ever had it???

  1. Some medicines like the one you mention, we take produce a metallic taste in the mouth. when we intake a medicine..it is taken up by the blood and a very small percentage of it may be released into saliva and other body secretions, so we get the taste.

  2. Haha I stole this off some site, see if it helps

"Bitter taste is caused by caused by anaerobic bacteria that live within our bodies. These bacteria can grow in number very quickly when given the right environment or food source thus causing a bad taste in mouth

You can fight against the metallic taste by having citrus juices, lemonade and foods marinated in vinegar. They not only break through the taste, but also help in saliva production that helps in washing away the metallic taste."

Also do you used canned air for dusting and stuff?

I know I used to use it on my keyboard and would accidently breathe it in and once in the system it would make my skin taste so bitter, it was just gross because of the bittering agent in it :P

You might also have a thyroid problem cause that can cause taste problems

Good luck figuring this out! If the problem keeps coming back you should see a doctor for a complete examination :D
