  1. i think its a cat with a partially decayed face

  2. It sure is odd how most of the people who keep posting this nonsense signed up for Yahoo Answers on or since July 28th and haven't posted about anything else.

It's a dead raccoon. A bloated raccoon corpse that was submerged in the ocean for several days, getting tangled in debris in the process. Does it look horrible? Absolutely. Is it a monster? Of course not.

SUSAN - You can write to K. Merrill at kmerrill at indyeastend dot com. As you can see from the info on the link below she is indeed the reporter who wrote the original article describing the corpse that washed ashore in Montauk. She is an eyewitness.

Further, I never claimed to have proof. I just prefer to believe the word and account of a journalist who is an eyewitness to the event rather than a lot of wild speculation about "monsters."

  3. I don't know what it is, but I'd just like to say to Rhea T that anyone can say they exchanged emails with anyone else to back up their own beliefs. People expect proof if you are going to say you "know" what something is. I have seen another person, who DID include links, state that biologists said the animal was a hoax. If you want to say that you know what it is, you'll need some proof, and proof doesn't include the word of a journalist, whether you exchanged emails with her or not.

  4. OMG !!!

It's proof that Chupacabras exist !

    IT"S A DEAD CHUPACABRA !!!

  5. Maybe it is a sea turtle with the shell taken off. I never seen what a turtle with no shell looks like, but that face looks just like a turtle to me.

  6. must be a relative of bigfoot

  7. That was a dead sea turtle without a shell.

  8. From what I could see of the lower jaw, not all that much, it appeared to have a procumbent tooth (probably an incisor), and a number of what seem to be postcanines.  Tooth diversity like that is mammalian.  However, I'd be very surprised if that lower jaw actually belongs with the front part of the upper one, as that doesn't look like it's from a mammal.  The pair don't look naturally compatible.  That makes me suspicious.
