Bizzy Caroline headlines the massive filed in the Pin Oak Valley View at Keeneland
When entries were drawn on 19 October for the 21st running of the Grade 3, $150,000 Pin Oak Valley View at Keeneland, Catesby Clay’s 3-year-old filly Bizzy Caroline headlined the overflow field of 12 three-year-old fillies and two also-eligibles.
The Kenneth McPeek trained Bizzy Caroline and Augustin Stable’s Dynamic Holiday both were assigned top weight of 123 pounds for the 21 October race.
Bizzy Caroline has not raced since 20th of August, when she participated in the 1 1/8 mile long Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks on Del Mar’s turf course, where she finished 8th.
Summer Soiree won the race with the winning time of 1 minute and 46.46 seconds, as Star Billing filled the runner up spot and Nereid finished behind him for third.
Breaking her maiden on 28 April this year over at 1 3/16 miles, Bizzy Caroline went on to win back to back races, and it was a good little period for the filly who was gradually growing into confidence and ability.
She captured an allowance race right after her maiden special weight race which she managed to break in her fourth attempt.
Scoring in the 1 1/16 mile allowance race gave her back to back victories at Churchill Downs 27 May, 2011, where she defeated Dos Lunas and Aquapazza with the winning time of 1 minute and 44.67 seconds.
Month later, Bizzy Caroline represented her connections again at Churchill Downs but this time in the Grade 3 Regret Stakes over the course’s turf track under M Cruz on 18 June, 2011.
Bizzy Caroline running for her 3rd straight win made absolutely sure she gets a hat-trick, as she left behind Excited and Bouquet Booth to win the 1 1/8 mile long race in 1 minute and 49.73 seconds.
Valley View has reeled in contestants which include Smart Sting and Trac N Jam, and also another top filly Dynamic Holiday who is coming off a 4th place finish in the Grade 3 Selene Stakes at Woodbine on 25 September, 2011.
The filly under E Prado ran over the synthetic surface after year’s span, but managed it well as Smart Sting kept the filly honest throughout the rice, winning it in style.
