Black Bear Hamster..?

Question

I'm interested in purchasing a black bear hamster. Can anyone provide me with any information on them? Are they good? Bad?

Another thing.. I need a cage that will be good for a black bear hamster. Can anyone provide me with a link for a good cage?

No, I do not want to make my own.

I had one recently. They are good pets but not very amusing, they dont do much. I prefer dwarfs and more active hamsters

Hmm..they are the same as syrains people.Good cage is the Habitrail playground or Living World brand.NEVER buy crittertrail.

I love black bear hamsters! I have 2 (in separate cages). They are very trainable and smart. I have had a golden Syrian before and I have seen the difference in the behaviors.  Both of my boys are potty trained and they have a potty litter. They both know their names, so whenever I say there name they come to the door and wait for me to take them out. They are Syrians so they are solitary animals and they are the same size. I would definitely recommend getting one, they are worth the extra money! Mine each were $20, but I have seen some for less.

Black Bear hamsters are great hamsters for the beginner owner. They are usually very gentle and laid back. My best friend got a black bear hamster and he was so calm. Teddy bear hamsters are also good if you can't find a black bear hamster. As for good cages, I would suggest Critter Trail cages. They are both plastic and wire and come in MANY different sizes, ranging from small to 4 level cages. Also I recommend getting a soft bedding for the hamsters cage, instead of woodchips because sometimes the wood can irritate them. Good luck!
