I don't know about shadows, but I had a blackberry pearl... I was really careful with it but it still broke.

Get the shadow, i have the shadow and my brother has the pearl and he regrets it. he is always using my phone. The shadow's features are better, and more advanced, the pearl is a nice look. but the keys are a lil small and not much to do unless you spend alot of money to fix it, i suggest the shadow!
