Black Cat Questions?

I don't believe in the bad luck that black cats bring. But all my friends tell me to stay away from my cat on Halloween and Friday the 13th. I usually shrug off what they say and forget about it. I myself am a supersticous person but I don't believe black cats give bad luck, but i agree with the Ancient Egyptions who had said that Black cats bring GOOD luck. Also, why are black cats the symbol of bad luck sometimes? It's just a color, so why do people think they bring bad luck?

P.S My black cat's name is Salem, SHE'S SOOOO CUTE and she's 3 months old and her b-day is on April 24th! Just incase you wanted to know for some odd reason.
