Black Caviar bags her 22nd career victory in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at the Royal Ascot
Peter Moody was incredibly pleased when his superstar mare, Black Caviar, took the money home in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Ascot on 23rd June, 2012.

The daughter of Bel Esprit’s was almost beaten, when rider Luke Nolen relaxed in the closing stages of the race, but managed to seize victory - a head before Freddie Head trained, Moonlight Cloud.
Had the jockey put in a 100%, the brown mare would have won by a larger margin, but trainer Peter Moody did not seem concerned with the winning margin as he commented to the press:
"You've only got to win by a quarter of an inch - we got the job done. We never expect dominance - we never ask her for dominance. I'm an extremely proud Aussie. It's very fitting that it's with a horse like this."
The mare foaled by Helsinge, did not fail to deliver, but this was the closest she came to being defeated.

She still claimed her 22nd consecutive victory of her career, 19 of these fantastic victories were scored with Luke Nolen aboard.
The trainer stated that she has had a long season and a long trip, but she still did her best.
Black Caviar’s performance was highly anticipated all over Australia and Britain, but she lived up to all the hype.

After the victory, she was presented to the Her Majesty The Queen, who came down to the winning enclosure to appreciate the effort of the second highest rated horse in the world - Frankel being the first.
The trainer didn’t announce Black Caviar’s retirement, but this may have been the first and last race at Royal Ascot.
Regarding her future, the trainer commented:
"She'll go into quarantine now, so let's get her home. This was always going to be the greatest risk of her career and for the last five or six runs we've always been prepared that it might be her last.”
The trainer stated that if she is not in the right form when she reaches Australia, then this might have been her last race, but nothing can be said for sure.
Moody emphasised that he could never be more proud of her.
