Black Caviar claims 25th straight win
Black Caviar managed to win her 25th straight race by claiming the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, April 13, 2013. She is definitely one of the very best in the business and it seems highly unlikely that someone will ever manage to defeat
her in her career.
She was rated as the outright favourite to succeed once again and no one else seemed to be in a position to match her. She was given a general starting price of 1 to 7, which clearly showed that the bookies had immense faith in her abilities. Moreover, the
punters also risked maximum money in her favour, as they did not have too many options to play with.
Despite being the hot favourite, the seven-year-old mare was unable to claim the top spot by a massive distance and only cleared her closest rival by three lengths. However, she did not push too hard, as she knew that no one was in a position to give her
a fight for the top spot.
The Australian mare was prominent right from the start and decreased her speed with the passage of time. Once she saw some of the other challengers closing in, she increased the pace and finished first comfortably.
Her trainer Peter G Moody was absolutely delighted with the result and stated, “I get to enjoy her everyday and to bring her to Randwick for a great crowd is terrific. They've taken to her as has been the case everywhere we've been. I'm extremely proud of
her and it was a lovely ride.”
On the other hand, Black Caviar’s jockey was also happy with the outcome of the race and said that it was absolutely a pleasure to partner such a strong challenger.
According to the veteran rider, “She's a special horse - words escape me. I'm not a wordsmith or very well-educated man, but she touches me. You see what she means to racing and to be a part of it blows you away. I've a great deal of faith in her and she
continues to make me and Peter look very good.”
Black Caviar has never been beaten in her career and she will look to maintain her 100 percent winning record in the future too.
