Black Caviar prepared to land her first victory outside Australia
The excitement at Royal Ascot has reached an all-time high as Australian star runner, Black Caviar, will run at Royal Ascot.
To support their runner, fans have flown in from Australia to make sure their runner gets all the support she needs - provided she wins - this will be the perfect ending for the Royal meet.
Trainer Peter Moody believes that nothing can stop his undefeated, Black Caviar, from earning the 22nd victory of her career in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on 23rd June, 2012.
This will be a chance for the six-year-old runner to earn her first victory outside of Australia, and she will do everything in her power to land the race over the six furlong course.
Peter Moody believes that his runner is invincible, and both the soft track and the outside post are not a cause for concern.
Moody stated that she is in perfect form and everything seems to be in order for the race.
The handler took every precaution they possibly could, including bringing the mare in a body compression suit from Australia.
He also arranged two stop-overs in the 30-hour flight, so that the long journey does not take its toll on the runner.
Moody stated:
"I think she's exactly where I want her. Fitness levels are good and everything seems right. Like any horse, little things can go wrong and you probably worry a little bit more with her, especially because we're so far from home, but it's all gone
to plan thus far."
The daughter of Bel Esprit, out of mare Helsinge, is currently the second highest rated horse in the world. First being Frankel, who landed an incredible victory in the Queen Anne Stakes on 19th June, 2012.
Moody regrets that his mare will not be able to take on Frankel, as he appreciated the performance of the Sir Henry Cecil trained colt.
"It's a pity we can't get Frankel to run again on Saturday, but she's the focus for the rest of the week now. We've seen some great racing this week. Watching Frankel on Tuesday was something to behold, I'll remember it for the rest of my career.”
