Black Caviar struck and posted her 14th win at Doomben and is still unbeaten
The Australian Black Caviar who is the till yet undisputed world’s top sprinter has extended her winning posts to fourteen after winning at the Doomben on 14th May. The five-year-old won the race was being ridden by Luke Nolen, who has ridden
her for major chunk of her career.
Black Caviar battled against John McNair’s Hay List who was being ridden by Glen Boss and secured the second position in the race. The one who managed being positioned third in the race was Robert Heathcote trained Buffering with Larry Cassidy onboard.
"It has been a build-up like no other. There is always the fear that something can go wrong. It's pure relief to have her back in great shape, doing what she loves and putting on a great show for the crowd”, Moody said on www.theage.com.au.
This season the world champion sprinter has raced five times and it is needless to say have not lost even in a single instance which in itself is a miracle. Her victory before this one was at the Randwick on 9th April this season. She settled
herself third in pursuit, was shaken up 1 ½ furlong out, geared up whenshe was approaching the final furlong, ended up leading the last 110 yards of the track and won the race easily.
John McNair’s Hay List was second, the result that repeated itself in the forth coming race (mentioned earlier in the article). Chris Waller trained Triple Honour was onboard Jim Cassidy, both crossing the wire third in line.
Nolen insists the result was never in doubt, adding to the AAP: "She travelled well and was in control of the race a long way from home. It's been remarkable the attention she gets. We're probably in that media age where everyone in the industry is more
accessible, even the equines as well. "She's a fully developed mare now and this will be her best campaign. Maybe the world's her oyster this racing season”.
Black Caviar’s performance no doubt has left an impact on not only her connections but also the crows and fans who gather around to witness her win one race after the other. The impeccable record has certainly opened way more career oriented doors for the
horse.
