Black Caviar successful on comeback
Black Caviar made a successful comeback to the sport by succeeding in the Group 1 encounter at Flemington in Australia on Saturday, February 16, 2013. She is such a strong performer and has never let her team down. She is one of the best runners in the business
and her statistics prove that.
Before this victory, the talented mare had represented her team in a total of 22 races, winning all of them. It is not an easy thing to maintain such a spectacular record for so many years, but she seems to be quite comfortable because of her form and fitness.
The five-year-old challenger came close to losing one race last year, when she ran at Ascot. She was rated as the outright favourite to succeed as usual, but did not have a clear run as she would have expected. Despite that, she managed to keep her cool
and finished on top of the table by just a head distance.
Bel Esprit’s daughter debuted back in 2009 and she proved her dominance to one and all with some tremendous victories. She took part in a few easier competitions at first, but kept on gaining confidence with the passage of time. Whenever she was tested in
a tougher race, she delivered a top class result, which proves that she does not choke under pressure.
Black Caviar’s trainer, Peter G. Moody, was pleased with the comeback victory and said that it was an emotional moment for the entire team.
He said, “I’m just so proud of her. I'm a little bit emotional for the first time, it's good to have her back. I said to my girls, I think it is the first time I have been nervous for a long time. She is just a good news story and I am very grateful for
the owners who are prepared to share with everyone.”
The trainer added, “Imagine having something this good and sharing it with every bugger in Australia. They are true blood Aussies, aren't they? We were on a hiding to nothing by bringing her back, the job was done and we thought it was over but to come back,
do that and run a record, I'm lost for words.”
