Black Caviar will head to Great Britain for the Royal Ascot meet in June 2012
With twenty victories under her belt, Black Caviar is certainly going for more. The brown mare, who is under the ownership of G.J. Wilkie and Mrs K J Wilkie et al, will compete in the Group 1 Goodwood Stakes at Morphettville in Adelaide, Australia, which is scheduled to take place on 12th May, 2012.
This will be the last race in the southern hemisphere, after which she will head to Great Britain in order to compete at Royal Ascot in June, 2012.
The daughter of Bel Esprit, out of Helsinge,   started her career on 18th April, 2009, and impressed her connections with a victory at Flemington. 
Her popularity was increasing and in her fourth race, she raced as a favourite, and has maintained her status as a favourite since then.
Trained by Peter G. Moody, the six-year-old mare seems to be in an incredibly good form, and has shown improvement in her work-outs.  
On 8th May, the trainer supervised her work-out, where she completed a distance of 400 metres in 22.26 seconds at Caulfield.
Moody was delighted with the way she performed as he stated to the press that:
"She worked lovely, quickening the last 400 meters and always traveling within herself,” Moody stated to the Herald-Sun. “She has ticked all the boxes, and she’s off to Adelaide.”
Whelped on 18th August, 2006, the dark bay mare competed in four races this season, and crushed the competition in each one.
Luke Nolen, her rider, has led her to seventeen victories. In her seasonal debut, she comfortably tackled the six furlong race and secured a victory over, Zedi Knight, by 4 ¼ lengths in the Essendon Mazda Australia Stakes (Group 2) at Moonee Valley on 27th January, 2012.
Black Caviar entered the Sportingbet Classic (Registered as Robert Sangster Stakes) (Group 1) with a winning shot of 1 to 20, and used her brisk pace to take the lead.
She defeated, Sistine Angel, by 4 ½ lengths at Morphettville on 28thApril, 2012.
With earnings of $5.5 million, the mare will not stop there and will aim to conquer the race at Royal Ascot. She will race against some tough competitors, but she is up for the challenge.
