Black Horse henna?

My horse is naturally jet black, and latley he's been getting VERY bleeched from being out in the sun at my new barn and I need him to be black for a show coming up soon. I have used the Black horse henna in the bottle, the liquid. But someone told me about the powder that you mix kind of like when u die ur blonde hair. and it turns into a paste, and u put it on them and then brush it off when it dries and cracks. Does this work? Thanks <33

  1. henna isn't black, it will dye his hair reddish.

YOu need to find something that is safe for your horse and for you to use too.

I have no idea, but henna isn't it.

If it is black henna, that is only fake henna and is a chemical dye. It can cause problems with blisters and kidney damage.

I wouldn't put it on my horse or myself.

  2. "Quick Black" It is a color shampoo. Also I know of people using Human temporary hair dye.

  3. try the supplement " Black as knight" also try to turn out your horse only at night. stall him during the day when the sun is the strongest {and hottest} then put him out all night. the black as knight rlly works but it may take a few weeks. the only thing is it is illegal in A & AA rated horse shows. as long as you're doing local or C rated it shouldnt matter!!!

    GOOD LUCK!!!

and no, I havnt ever heard of the brush off dye!

  4. hope that works, after the show for long term feed your horse black sunflower seeds, but not the kind from wal mart because it has a weird coating on it. we have to black draft crosses that had been in a permanent state of brown and now they are completely black in the middle of summer and it happens to be good roughage and makes them chew their food. just throw in a cup or so.

  5. Yes it works. I would go with Black Horse Henna. Also when it gets closer to show time i would keep him out of the sun as much as possible because being in the sun to long strains horses energy. Good Luck at your Show!
