Black Masters is back in Thailand
The Asian tour is coming back by the end of this season to Black Mountain Golf Club with its defending champion Johan Edfors.
Ryder cup will be gone but this does not mean that the golf will wrap itself up, therefore events will be taking place and for now the name that is coming up is the Black mountain Masters in Hua Hin. Hua Hin is located in Thailand which is the capital of Bangkok and the most interesting fact is that many big names of golf like Simon Khan who won the BMW PGA Championship and the number one golfer of Finland Mikko Ilonen alsowill be making an appearance at the event carrying a purse of $6 million and the winner prize of $95,100 from 16th December -19th December, 2010.
As for the defending champion, he says that he is very excited for coming back to Black Mountain to defend his title. Not to forget Edfor has already won twice on the Asian tour and this time if he wins it, then he will be the first Asian to win a major in row.
Moreover the Black Mountain Masters is the fourth tournament on the banner of the Asian tour to take place in Thailand. This signifies that golf has finally earned awareness in Asia and as we can see that in all this time Thailand has provided one of the best golfers in the world, such as, Thongchai Jaidee, Boonchu Ruangkit, Prayad Marksaeng, Chapchai Nirat and Chinnarat Phadungsil.
Talking to the press the general manager of the Black mountain said that it was a moment of honour that Asian tour 2010 has chosen Thailand its venue as for the Black Masters. He said the Black Masters will act like a signature event and hence it will bring in more tours in the future. Lastly he added that he was going to welcome Edfors, Ilonen and Khan on behalf of the management of the Black Masters.
Coming back to the defending champion Johan Edfor; this man holds a record of three victories in Europe including the TCL Classic in China, where he had a commanding victory. In the same event Prayad finished in second place tied with Chapchai after posting a score of 64 and Thongchai finished in the fifth place.
According to the Asian Tour Executive Chairman Kyi Hla Han, the return of the Black Masters will bring an amazing finale to the end of the Asian Tour which in future will attract more players to Asia. With the conclusion of this event a new event will return back to the Black Mountain. He further added that last year’s tournament was a big success and from there the management realized that similar activities should be bought into the area as it will benefit the tourism and sports industry. This year Black Masters is welcoming a hundred and forty four players from throughout the world including the defending champion. The winner of the tournament will get a two year exemption on the Asian Tour as after US and European tours, Asian tour is the Third biggest banner.
To wrap up the story, the Asian tour is back in Thailand in the form of Black Masters taking place in the Mountain Golf Club. The event carrying a purse of $6 million will mark the end of the season for the Asian tour and more over it will bring in fresh air of entertainment for the people of Thailand who are now developing a taste for a game so grand like Golf. According to the media reports an outclass performance is expected from the defending champion Johan Edfors but at the same time some healthy challenge will be seen between other players as well who are known for their excellent strokes and fine putting.
