Black Math?

I was looking over one of my albums a few years ago, "Grand Openings and Closings" by the Sleepytime Gorrila Museum and in the notes it mentioned some scientist who did research in "black math". I'm curious is this anything at all? I can't find any information on it. Whenever I try to search for it all that pops up is the song from the White Stripes and a band called the Black Math Experiment.

Anyone know what the heck black math is?
