Activision seem to be on a rampage as the publisher of the Call of Duty series is removing any and all evidence of the title of the next game in the series.
In the first part of the article (click http://www.senore.com/Black-Ops-2-sighting-Part-1CV-a130330 to view) we explained how Activision gives it developers two years to develop a title but release a new game every year.
More importantly though, we also discussed the first major hint as to the name of the next game in the Call of Duty series would be. For those who are reading this without having read the previous article, and do not wish to, below is a brief summary of part 1.
A CV of a computer game artist had Black Ops 2 listed as one of the project he had worked on. The CV has since been removed from the website in what can only be described as trademark Activision behaviour.
However, the evidence is mounting that the next game in the Call of Duty franchise will be a direct sequel to Black Ops, which was developed by Treyarch.
It seems the obvious move for both Activision and Treyarch, yet there is no feeling like being a detective and uncovering the facts before everyone else.
A little bit of digging will turn up another interesting piece of evidence that BlOps 2 is indeed on its way. Listing products on websites before they should be up there is a common way of finding out about prices and release dates of upcoming games.
Amazon.com did the same as they listed Black Ops 2 on their site. The game was available for pre-order and priced at a cool EUR 69.99.
The listing has since been removed but not before a snapshot of it was taken by GameBlog. What adds credibility to the story is the fact that the blog claims to have been approached by Activision who want the screenshot taken down.
Upon refusal, the publisher announced that it was withdrawing ad support as well as future invitations to Activision events in the future.
One has to wonder who Activision is trying to hide the news from as almost everyone on the planet will be willing to bet their house on Black Ops 2 being the next title in the series. That is unless the publisher has a surprise up its sleeve, though to be honest that is highly unlikely.
