Black dye won't work in my hair?!?!?!?

Black hairdye does not work in my hair! First time, it turned burnette and last time it turned blue! I want to try again before school but im scared it will turn some other color that i dont want...Is there any way to prevent that?

what type of dye was it, ?

if it was herbal essance, ,the same thing happened to me and my friend, just not as badly.. the color just dosent stick as well, you should'nt use any clariole in my opion,

try not conditioning your hair before you dye again. the conditioner acts as a lubricant for your hair and thus repels the dye.

if this doesn't work your hair just will not take to home dyes. go to a salon and get it done if money permits.

Depends what color your hair was before?

But it really shouldn't do that. Black is the darkest color there is and it should cover over any color.

try dying your hair blond,and a light blond then after like 2-3 days try the jet black dye again you should notice a difference.

dark dye over dark hair isn't noticeable and will mess up

as a matter of fact if you have blue hair now try turning it black and it wont show up but if its over blond hair it will show up with out a doubt

Same happened to me. If you don't have enough money for a salon, dye your hair a darker color than it is now then try the black.
