Black eggs?

Question

i was just watching an asian movie one day and i realized that they used brown eggs and i noticed that here in the US... they have white eggs... i mean they have brown too... but thats because its a diverse country... but i was thinking... does like... africa have like... black eggs? (btw... i am totally not being racist or anything like that right now) its just pure curiosity...

Actually there is a type of chicken I saw at a farmer's market here in Missouri that lay colored eggs. Some blue. some yellow. some lavender. also other colors. but no black. The Easter Bunny doesn't like these chickens.

All eggs are edible but most don't taste good.  The "prettier" or more unusually colored an egg is, the worst it tastes.  So a black egg probably would not be eaten by any culture.

I guess you are talking about century eggs - the preserved duck eggs we have in Chinese cuisine!  You may find more information about it in below website (with photo).

We serve century eggs with sour ginger slices (as appetizer) or slice the eggs and boil them with fish slices, ginger and coriander for soup, or stir fry it with beaten eggs to make omelettes.  There are many different recipes of century eggs in Chinese cuisine.

black eggs are duck eggs that have been preserved...

however it isn't just in china(ahem, last answerer) it is in other countries too. like vietnam

i eat them all the time..and they taste pretty good from my point of view

but then again... i eat everything...
