Question:

Black hairdressers? What's this straightener?

I was in Manchester, UK yesterday and the stylist used it on me but I forgot to ask her about them & I've left the city now. They're dark blue, the part that straightens is kind of square shaped not the normal thin rectangles, and steam comes out. She put them on a stand that looked like alot of purple curling irons. I know it sounds weird so if you have no idea what I'm on about don't answer. They made my hair so soft & smooth & straight with just 1 stroke, much better than my Remingtons, do you know what make they are? Ty

  1. I don't know what make they are but Remingtons are not very good straightners.

If you're wanting really good straightners go for Nicky Clarke or GHD.

  2. Sorry can't be much help on what you're actually describing..but.. if it is for afro Caribbean hair then Wahl is really, really good as the plates are really wide and it is specially created for our hair..my mum used to be a hairdresser and that's what she used. Plus it is not that expensive.

Or you could invest in GHD's...most salons including black hairdressers use them but make sure that it is the ones with the wide plates again...i have super coarse hair and they are the only ones that can straighten my hair.

Better still join this forum ( http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/ ) ... it has information on EVERYTHING for black women and the people on there are really helpful...I'm sure that they can recommend you good hair straighteners..along with loads of other hair and skin tips!!

  3. im not sure what make

    but try GHD's

they give exactly the same effect

    hope i helped
