  1. you right sir,,,,, i think white smarter ----- black stronger....that is the point .....

  2. I must admit I was ready to blast you for bringing up such a stupid issue as race.   Real boxing fans don't really give a d**n about a fighter's skin color or race.     However, you do pose an interesting question.

Though I still hate to look at any part of social life from a position of race,   I prefer to look at them simply as FIGHTERS not Black or White.

Off the subject:  I have a huge comic collection of over 4000.  I'm a huge Superman fan and I commend DC because I have never gotten the impression, from the way he has been written all these years,  That Superman favors any one race over another.   Even as a kid I never saw Superman as anything other than a superhero.   But that's just me.  I've been fortunate enough to grow up without allowing race to become my greatest concern.

On subject again:  Since you took the liberty of picking your Black and White champions,  I must also take the liberty of pointing out that you could give the White champions a better chance if you juggle your list a bit.

I have only, Braddock, Johansson and Vitali Klitschko winning.  The match-ups are good from an historical stand point,  Dominant champions vs Dominant chanpions and Second stringers against each other.   What happens if we change things around a bit?

Marciano could beat 10-14 and would have a good chance against Holyfield or Liston, though both have a slight edge.  I've also always maintained that Rocky could beat Johnson 50/50.

I omit the following:  Ali, Louis, Holmes, Lewis, Forman.   This is the top 5 on my list and no matter how you juggle it, no one else on this, or any list, could beat them.

Dempsey beats Patterson, Spinks and Walcott.  He has a better chance against Johnson than against Louis.  His edge in speed puts him within a puncher's chance against the much slower Liston, though I believe Sonny would eventually beat him.  Believe it or not,  Wladamir would certainly beat 10-14.  Ezzard is the best of them but much too small for the giant Ukrainian.

Baer has a shot at a win if he doesn't fight Forman or anyone above in the top 5.  He loses to Tyson and Holyfield but has a shot against the rest.

I'm surprised you don't have Frazier on this list.   I think, styles make fights and he's be knocked out against Big Jeff.  I'm trying to find someone on your list who WOULD NOT beat Patterson and that includes Black and White.   I dare say a well conditioned Leon Spinks would give Floyd more than he can handle.

Can't give you a much clearer answer than that because I would become too tempted to mix it up in ways other than Black and White.   Still, for such a shallow topic as race, this particular discussion is not bad.

  3. 1. Muhammad Ali vs Rocky Marciano... -Ali decision

    2. Joe Louis vs Jack Dempsey...............-Dempsey 4th rd k.o.

    3. George Foreman vs Max baer............-Baer..... He can win a decision if he sticks and moves!

    4. Larry Holmes vs James Jeffries--    Jeffries was much more athletic in his prime. decision

    5. Lennox Lewis vs Wladamir Klitscho - Lewis. At this point they are nearly identical! But I take Lewis because he had a more consistent career.   Decision

    6. Jack Johnson vs Gene Tunney...-  Johnson by decision.

    7. Evander Holyfield vs Jess Willard ....- Holyfield. by 11 rd ko.

    8. Sonny Liston vs Vitali Klitscho..-  Vitali would be too big for him. 3 rd ko!

    10. Jersey Joe Walcott vs Jack Sharkey ... Sharkey! by 5th round ko!

    11. Ezzard Charles vs Max Schmeling--  Schmeling by decision.

    12. Floyd Patterson vs James Braddock -- Braddock by

    decision.

    13. Leon Spinks vs Ingemar Johansson--- Johansson by split decision.

  4. 1. Ali

    2. Louis

    3. Foreman

    4. Holmes

    5. Lewis

    6. Johnson

    7. Holyfield

    8. Liston

    9. Carnera

    10. Walcott

    11. Charles

    12. Braddock

    13. Johansson

I consider it a skill issue, race is not a factor, any fight you listed is a coin toss that could change on one punch, you listed a couple dozen all time greats, all with immense talent and ability.

  5. Are you serious? Its 2008 and we are still attempting to claim  some sort of "race superiority".  Dosen't matter what its in as long as one is better than the others.WOW!!

  6. 1. Muhammad Ali vs Rocky Marciano rocky he was just amazing

    2. Joe Louis vs Jack Dempsey dempsey he hit harder and was so aggressive

    3. George Foreman vs Max baer george foreman by a mile

    4. Larry Holmes vs James Jeffries jeffries big time could go 20 rounds hit hard as h**l and had a titanium chin

    5. Lennox Lewis vs Wladamir Klitscho lennox would ko klitschko he knows how wladimer fights

    6. Jack Johnson vs Gene Tunney jack johnson would kill tunney

    7. Evander Holyfield vs Jess Willard evander would win this by decision

    8. Sonny Liston vs Vitali Klitscho vitali would kill liston.liston was 6'0" tall vitali is 6'7" and hits hard as h**l

    9. Mike Tyson vs Primo Carnera mike tyson woul ko him in the 2nd round

    12. Floyd Patterson vs James Braddock braddock by  decision

    13. Leon Spinks vs Ingemar Johansson leon spinks by decision

i give the edge to the blacks but i still think some of the white champs like vitali klitischko, james jeffries, or rocky could beat almost any black on that list in there prime.

  7. 1. Ali vs Marciano - Ali by shutout and convincing UD, probably a miss match.

    2. Louis vs Dempsey - Louis by whatever he wants, complete miss match, in my opinion.

    3. Foreman vs Baer - Foreman by KO inside 6 rounds.

    4. Holmes vs Jeffries - Holmes by TKO midway through the fight.

    5. Lewis vs W. Klitschko - Lewis by KO inside 5 rounds.

    6. Johnson vs Tunney - close fight, but Tunney by decision, I think.

    7. Holyfield vs Willard - Holyfield by TKO midway through the fight.

    8. Liston vs V. Klitschko - Vitali by KO inside 3 rounds.

    9. Tyson vs Carnera - Tyson by KO in the first round, huge miss match.

    10. Wallcot vs Sharkey - Wallcot by easy UD.

    11. Charles vs Schmeling - Charles by UD, although I would be a fan of Schmeling in this match.

    12. Patterson vs Braddock - Patterson by a loop sided UD.

13.Spinks vs Johansson - Spinks by close decision in a boring fight.

So 11 - 2. Black champions easily prevail, in my opinion.

    This could also be interesting:

    Evander Holyfield vs Rocky Marciano

    Mike Tyson vs Vitali Klitschko

    Sam Peter vs Ruslan Chagaev

    Michael Moorer vs Wladimir Klitschko

    Lennox Lewis vs Nikolay Valuev

In my opinion Evander, Vitali, Ruslan, Wladimir and Lennox would stand victorious here.

    tyson

  9. This question is a raciest question it is divisive our history in America is divisive there was a time when blacks and whites could not fight each other question like this just make people chose sides and we should not have to .

  10. The blacks have my vote.  Those who find malice to the question are obviously over-reacting.  Blacks are proven to be more athletic, in general, compared to white people.  Whether it be in boxing, basketball, football, track and field, etc. etc.  You name it, the blacks have it.

  11. HA ha ha interesting question!! Im white but ave gotta admit black boxers are on average more sucessful

  12. your comparisons wouldn't happen b/c most of those people are from different eras. skin color doesn't dictate the better fighter. the better fighter dictates the better fighter

  13. Numbers 7, 12, and 13 are toss ups.

In all these other matchups the black fighter would win.

    Number 3, 5, 8, 9, are KO's for the winner.

    1, 2, 4, 6, I would really like to see.

10, 11 Charles and Walcott have too much skill for those guys

Ali - Tunney would be interesting

  14. lol you are gonna get some heated answers my friend.

    1. muhammad ali vs rocky marciano= Ali had all the tools to beat marciano, the height, the reach, the speed, the chin everything favours Ali in this fight, marciano had the  heart to go for the entire fight but he would have been at a clear disadvantage here

    2. Joe Louis vs jack dempsey= this would be a tough one for joe louis, dempsey was relentless in the ring and quite powerful, i think this fight could go either way however i can not say for sure because dempsey didn't fight the best of his day due to the color line, whereas joe louis proved himself countless times in 25 title defenses and 11 years as champion.

3.george foreman vs max baer= baer was a heavy hitter but foreman was almost super human foreman would win by ko.

4.larry holmes vs jim jeffries=  larry Holmes is the blue print for the perfect modern boxer, jim jeffries fought in a time when boxing was still fresh from its bare knuckle past, and his skills would be considered rudimentary by today's standards moreover if jack johnson could beat him then larry holmes would DEFINETELY beat him if they fought under modern rules

5.lennox lewis vs wladimir klischko=  I have always felt that vitali is better than his brother, and if lennox could beat vitali then i am sure he could beat wladimir.

6.jack johnson vs gene tunney= two very crafty fighters, tunney worked best against aggressive punchers,he would have had problems with johnson because johnson was a smart boxer and not an aggressive puncher, tunney would have frustrated johnson throughout the fight, he would not try to trade punches with johnson because johnson had more power, he would be forced to constantly move and avoid getting hit while johnson would be the aggressor, to be honest with you this fight would be very boring (it would too technical) i think in the end johnson would get a decision due to the sheer lack of aggression on tunney's part

7.holyfield vs willard= Holyfield. Willard is not even worthy enough to carry holyfield's jockstrap.

8.sonny liston vs vitali klischko = Vitali could actually win this fight, liston was very much like tyson, he was an intimidator who bullied his opponents, vitali klischko is the last person on earth any fighter can think of bullying, both had power and both were slow however klischko had the size and reach to keep liston away, he would probably keep throwing his jab the entire fight and earn a decision however liston had a puncher's chance due to vitali's questionable chin.

    9. Mike Tyson vs Primo Carnera= Primo carnera should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Tyson, Tyson would knock him out in the first round (probably the first half of it)

    10. Joe walcott vs Sharkey= Walcott was a much better boxer than sharkey, he would have out boxed him to earn a UD.

    11. ezzard charles vs max schmelling= I am a huge max Schmelling fan, he was a tough boxer with a lot of heart (unfortunately he fought during a controversial era), nevertheless ezzard charles is simply the better boxer here, schmelling has a lot of questionable losses and although he had good power, ezzard charles was stronger, and more skillful than schmelling (and faster too)

    12.  Floyd Patterson vs James Braddock= Braddock is another fighter i greatly admire, cinderella man was a tough s****.who could hang in the with anyone, for some reason he got better as he got older instead of younger lol, this fight would be entertaining to watch and i honestly believe braddock could pull off a win however patterson was much faster than the cinderella man and although he would not knock braddock out i am pretty sure he would earn a decision.

    13. Leon Spinks vs ingemmar johansson= Spinks would win this fight, Johansson was a good boxer but spinx was better and accustomed to much stronger opponents than johansson.
