Black kangaroos?

do they exist or am i going mad!?

because i was out in the bush today getting firewood and i swear i seen a black kangaroo.

  1. i have seen a few after bush-fires but they weren't moving very good


  2. I've never heard of a black kangaroo but that doesn't mean there isn't one or two around the place.

    I know there is the occasional albino, so why not the occasional black one.

    If I were out collecting firewood I'd rather see a black kangaroo than a black snake.

  3. There are black rock wallabies.  They are males and highly prized (as food) by the Gunwinjku people in Western Arhem Land.

  4. It may have been a wallaroo.  They are very dark and sometimes look black.  Size is a bit bigger than a wallaby, and a bit smaller than an eastern grey.  They have a chunky, more robust build.

  5. As Archie said - yep, wallabies!

    You'd have noticed he was a fair bit smaller than the average roo?

    Quite common in the Grampians mountain range near where I live too...
