Question:

Black liquid growing on our tv screen?

There is a black spot on the left bottom corner of the screen and it's growing. My husband touched it and it seems to be liquid behind or in the screen. We turned the tv off now, in hopes it will stop it. But what do we do? how did this happen ?

The tv is a 60" Philips 60PL9200D (Rear projection DLP HDTV)

  1. Chances are it's a damaged area of screen. The liquid crystal is reacting poorly by settling into the damaged area. Did somebody hit it? Touch it very hard? Did it fall?

When did you notice this? Do you know when it started?

If it's still under warrenty, take it back.

  2. well thats not good. take it back to where you bought it. maybe you can get a refund.

  3. i think it is the projection

i dont think it is a problem though

    but i could be wrong

  4. I'm guessing you sprayed a cleaner onto the screen and it dripped down under the screen and now it is soaking up between the two screens. You would have to take the screens apart and let dry to see if that would clear up the problem, best to have a tech take it apart but if you want to try your self be careful the screens could rip or you could make the spot worse.
