I want to be a model in Japan. I'm not sure if I will be unique in Japan because I'm black... Will they accept my black beauty? Is there any black models in Japan? Someone explain... I know that there isn't that much black people in Japan.

  1. Well first, try to be a model in general then if your good enough I'm sure they would have no problem having a black model.

  2. Japanese will appreciate having you as a model. They really like having African American in their country. Just like that one famous UFC fighter and hes black

  3. i know tyra had a photoshoot with other models in japan and they loved them there. i think it matters with experience

  4. Although you would be a unique addition to Japan's fashion industry, you have to remember that the Japanese really stress the term "gaijin" or "outsider". More people nowadays are more open to other cultures, but that still lives on in many people.

I've seen Caucasian models on Japanese ads, but I haven't  seen a black model yet (I'm sure they exist though), so I think you should go for it, it's worth a try, some designer might love how you're really different from the other models and hire you!
