Black or white toilet?

Question

I have a black granite vanity top with a tan vessel sink on top. I am replacing the toilet, and was thinking of getting a black one instead of the white one to match the sink top. Any suggestions??

that is a very good idea, try light gray on the floor and blue walls, white ceiling

yes go for it, you can add colour buy using towels .

depends on the colors of the rest of the bathroom.  If the walls and floors are light, the toilet will stick out like a sore thumb.  Make sure that it all blends well.

Most people match the toilet, shower, sink and tub to have a streamlined look. If its a half bath, get a black toilet. If its a full bath, get it to match the sink, shower/tub.

I had a black toilet years ago.You have to keep it extra clean all the time.It shows all the dust particles like lint.I would only have one again if I had a Maid.

It depends on the wall color and other colors in the bthrm.  A friend of mine has an elegant guest half bath with a black toilet, black vanity, black walls with fleur de lis stamps all over it, a gold tp holder, gold/brass faucet handles, cream finger tip towels with monogram in gold, etc.  Lamps on, instead of ceiling light and it is all very elegant for a bathroom for sure

I have a black toilet and when closed it is impressive looking.  However you need to be very careful of the quality of your water.  Black toilets show water stain rings to an extreme.  Short of that, black toilets in the appropriate decor provide an exceptional and unique addition to an otherwise forgettable room.

If you were thinking of a black toilet, I think I'd try to find a tan one to match the sink. If your bathroom is extremely large and modern, a black unit might be just the thing. But if it's small and conventional in style, I'd go with something more conservative. Down the road, a black toilet might not be the best choice when you're thinking of selling your home.
