i have a toshiba satellite a205-s4777. yesterday my comp shut down, and when i turned it back on it gave me a screen to restart normal (in case of just power loss) or launch start up repair for possible damaged files or files that were not configured properly. i have tried numerous times to reboot, hitting both options and am not getting anywheres. if i choose the normal launch then it goes back to the option screen after a few minutes. if i hit the start up repair it will go to a black screen with loading bars for a few minutes, then i get the screen of death, albeit sometimes it will have a white mouse icon on it. i have hit the f2 and f12 options, but they haven't helped. i have tried rebooting from disk, and the computer told me that it was not possible due to hard disk could not be found. i have a lot of personal pictures and such on hard drive and don't want to lose it, is there any way i can salvage it or just cut my losses? i am in iraq right now and don't have computer repair store handy.
