  1. YELLOW yellow would be a perfect color for a wedding dress! I'm Bored of white to lol. I always thought that yellow would be a great color for a wedding dress. My second best color would be baby blue.

  2. black is a little disturbing. If I saw the supposedly blushing bride walk down the aisle in a black dress I'd think she was at the wrong place. It would honestly look like she was headed for a funeral. White dresses are sort of a tradition. there are other colors you could go with. Cream, pink, even red!!! black is just a little gloomy. But hey if you really want a black dress for your wedding go right ahead.

  3. i mean if it go's with your wedding theme i would say yes if not no hon you should try peach or blue or really realy light blue i like that color it blinds in but there are several weding dress sites with color you jus can look at the colors

  4. I think black is a pretty color for a wedding dress. Plus it's your day, wear what ever color you want. This is not a question for anyone to answer but yourself.

  5. My friend got married in a black dress- it was soooo beautiful.  Not a traditional looking one though.  If you go black, don't get a full length one- go for knee length- sleeveless...still formal but doesn't look like you are the corpse bride.

    Check out this site....

AWESOME dresses that you can wear...that aren't white.

  6. If that is your style, then go for it. You might have a hard time finding a black wedding gown though. Gowns these days come in many different colors. Light Pink, Light Blue, Lavendar, Red, Light Gold

Here are a few that I like.

  7. That's really creative, I love it.  As for the color, I'd stick with black.  In my mind I associate any color other than white and black to not being "pure" stereotype.  People may think you're doing it because you had s*x before marriage, ya know?  I wouldn't think that with black.

  8. Sarah Jessica Parker (s*x in the city) wore a black wedding dress. she is a fashion icon, so she wanted to be different, but she said it was the biggest mistake of her life. perhaps this is why matthew is cheating on her...

  9. Sure.  I like it.  It's your wedding who cares about traditions?  I wore a black pocket tee and white knee skirt for mine.  But it was in a playground with parents and kids running around.

  10. Yes.  And it's not a question of if it's okay or not. It's your wedding.  I think it would be extraordinary to have any other color but white actually!  Go for it!!

  11. Well, my best friend loves the color black and she is getting a white dress with a lot of black on it.  Her cake is going to be black and white.  The only thing I wouldn't do is black flowers as they do look like there dead!

I wish you the best of luck!

  12. I think black is too dark. Think about it, you wear it to funerals and such. I would go with a more fun colour, you don't have to wear white. But it is your wedding so the decision is up to you. I hope i helped and i'm sure you'll look marvelous on your wedding day!

    :)

  13. wedidngs really are a time for tradidtion. if you want to breack the mold you should do suttle things. would you come to a freinds wedding if she as the bride were wearing a miniskirt or a bikini? or howabout if the bride was wearing a cocktail dress and crocs? you might be caught offgaurd! you shouldnt go for full on blck but instead maby a lgiht, blue, pink, or purple dress. maby even a wight dress with a red or balck sash! anyway congratulations and i hope your wedding day is special!!!!

  14. You could do it if you did a white band around your waist. I'm sure people would complain a little, but who's wedding is it? Or you could do a white dress with a black band around your waist. Make sure groom wearing black and white also.

  15. I don't know if its ok or not but I find black wedding dresses to be extremely tacky and too much of a "look at me everyone I'm making a statement" Blah.

    Why not ivory or champagne?

  16. Are you DEAD inside? A bride is supposed to look like a princess and beautiful in her wedding dress not like a dead gothic girl ... y even bother getting in a dress or married cause doesn’t that 'bore' u to end?

  17. Nooo!!! Yes white does get a bit dull because everyone wears it, but black is NOT the way to go. It is your wedding.. A tie for happiness, you should wear something light and eligant.. something that makes you seem like you want to be there at you wedding, not a funeral.

    Hope I helped!!! :]]

  18. black! h**l no! :)))

how about red? My friend want to go in red and I think this is very cute...

or beige or cappuccino? my mom had blue one and I like it too...

  19. its ur wedding do what you want although i will say this, bright colors show a happy time and you want people to know that you're happy adn you're looking for happy times ahead and the color will make them happy and happy for you and will you. White was originally for virgins anyway so not everyone HAS to have white because white is just tradition. thats why when people have a second wedding, they have a diff colored dress. Can you look back on this day or have your kids look back and you can still feel good that you chose that? and if you still want to, think abotu who makes or has black wedding dresses

as far as what you're guest will think no matter what they choose, who cares, right?

  20. white = a new begining, happyness, purity, that's why you wear it on your wedding, you're starting a new life with your loved one.

black usually is accosiated with death, evil & unhappiness.

Although it would probably be a pretty dress ( i love to wear black ) I dont' think it's a good choice for a wedding. Although I think this black dress is very pretty:

Usually for other colors people wear a cream, ivory, yellow, pink, purple.. but do what will make YOU happy. It's YOUR day to be beautiful!

  21. It all depends on what you believe as far as tradition.  Some people believe that black will bring bad luck to the couple.  In former times, if a bride was marrying a widower or if she was in mourning, she would wear black or a dark color.

But today it's pretty much up to the bride and groom so if that's what you want - go for it.

Good Luck to  you and blessings on your wedding!

  22. go for whatever you want black isnt traditional its your wedding so its your choice :) x

  23. This is really a sticky situation, and it depends on a few different issues. How superstitious are you? Black is considered bad luck or a color of mourning in most western cultures. And that's another question. How does it fit in with your cultural heritage? Does it go well with your skin tone? Is it to be a goth wedding? Is it going to be formal? Semi-formal? Casual? There are a lot of things to consider!

Overall, black isn't normally a good color for a wedding gown, though great on bride's maids. Is it just pure white, or white and beige that bores you? Or does it also bore you with a splash of color?

If you're of Asian, African, or Native American descent, I might suggest red or pink, or maybe a soft yellow or orange. If you've got really pale skin, like if you're of Norther European descent, you might choose somewhat cooler colors, like a soft blue or mint green.

Not only should you take your skin tone into consideration with a non-white dress, but also eye and hair color. I would suggest looking through http://www.davidsbridal.com , since  they carry a wide variety of styles in different colors.

  24. These days, brides are opting to wear any color they want.  Some people will probably think black is a little too "goth" for a wedding dress, but I see nothing wrong with getting married in a chic black cocktail dress with maybe some pretty white flowers in your hair.

You might feel more comfortable in a lighter shade, though- give some thought to a nice light blue, pink, or amethyst.  I don't blame you, though- white isn't really my color either.

  25. Black is absolutely okay for a wedding dress. White dresses are popular, but by no means the only option - they stem from an antiquated tradition that you were supposed to wear the most expensive dress you could afford to your wedding (and white was expensive back in the day, because it has a tendency to get dirty easily). Many other cultures don't even abide by the white dress tradition, and lots of brides wear red, black, or other colors.

Also, a note: white dresses never symbolized purity. Traditionally, the color for purity is blue, and it wasn't popular for wedding dresses because people had the idea that if you had to wear a purity color to explain yourself, you probably weren't all that pure.

Moral of the story: wear what you like, it's your wedding!

  26. well its not very traditional of course.but i dont think theres an official rule.. so if you really want it, go for it.

but honestly... did you never dream of a big white wedding when you were younger?? if youre really bored with white why not choose a light color that is not white but doesnt seem like youre going to a funeral? maybe peach or rose or light purple, light green or light blue... there are a bunch.

cuz i dont think youre gonna find a lot of black wedding dresses. i mean you prolly will find some but its not that of a big selection. and you want your wedding dress to be exactly what you like right? so a big selection would be good.

  27. Hi Lily and congratulations!

You can wear whatever color YOU want!  Yes, white is traditional, but many are choosing other colors, including black.

Before Queen Victoria (in 1840) made white "the color" for a bridal gown, brides DID wear black (or any other color that was available to them.)

So....if black is your choice...so be it!

  28. It's absolutely your choice.  Black is very formal and chic and if you are having and evening wedding it would suit the formality very well. Sarah Jessica Parker wore a black cocktail dress (I think it was Gucci) to her wedding, and she has been happily married for over 10 years now.

If that's what you feel suits you (a s**y little black dress :) ) then go right ahead!

  29. well white is worn if you are a virgin when you are married and you could wear black i would but most people would associate it with a funeral and probably say that it was bad going into the marriage in black like the marriage was doomed to die or something. i like black much better then white but the guests might make a big deal and you might wanna ask the guy first he might not like the idea. try a pale grey (like silver) or champagne colored dress  and then black for the after party

  30. The important thing is how do YOU feel about your dress?  I've seen some very elegant wedding dresses that are black, and they're beautiful.  However, there's nothing like white (or a lighter color) to make you FEEL like a bride.  I'm not going to try to talk you out of a black dress, I even had a bride wear a black dress before, and it was stunning.  But look at dresses that have color incorporated into them.  I've seen some striking dresses that have black embroidery on them, you might also be happier with a gold or champagne color dress.

I do know Sarah Jessica Parker wore a black gown for her wedding, and has since been quoted as regretting the decision.  You really only have this 1 day to be a bride, you can wear a black gown any other day of your life, but this is your one day to be a bride.

Having said all that, go to a bridal salon, and see what you can find.  You may have to try several different stores, because we all carry different designers, so you may just not have found the designer that does it for you yet.  I wish you all the best in your gown shopping, but remember, this dress is for YOU, not anyone else.  All that's important is that YOU feel like a bride in it.  Best wishes!

  31. If your gonna have a trditional wedding with lots of guests you may not want to go to extreem with the color, although it is yours and your future husbands choice. How about the bridemaids wearing black, I wore black as a maitron of honor and the flowers where white Cala Lilies, everyone wore black but the bride & groom
