If you crossed an arctic wolf and a black timber wolf, what would the pups be like? I need to know for a roleplay, and I want it to be realistic....

  1. if the black wolf has the dominant genes, then there is a 3/4 chance that the pup will be black and 1/4 chance that the pup will be white, and no, you won't get grey wolves

  2. Black wolves aren't a different subspecies - it's common for a litter of timber wolves to have some grey cubs and some black, regardless of the colour of the parents. Since black wolves can be born of grey parents, they would carry grey genes to pass on to their own offspring, as well as black genes. Arctic wolves, however, are always white, so they have only white genes to pass on. The colour of the offspring of an arctic wolf and a black wolf would depend on which genes dominate, but it's possible you could get a mixed litter of some grey, some black and some white cubs.

  3. cross of pure black with pure white would either be

-grey in case of incomplete dominance OR,

-black if black color gene is dominant &white if white color gene is dominant.

  4. they would be either black or white as they are separate genes and it would be much more likely to be black.

It wouldn't be Grey or partially white/black so if you want to go for realism then choose black or white as a SOLID color
