We have found 2 in the garage (which is attached to the house) and one in the KITCHEN.. and we are sure that is the type. We live in coastal NC. What should we do now? We have a kitten and 2 young children and 1 infant. How do we fix this?

  1. The home depot idea is a good one, but I would call an exterminator. You dont want to take any chances.

  2. go to lowes or home depot, buy some indoor out door, spray that will either kill them, or keep them away from the house. they make a product that is safe to spray indoors. cant re call the name of the product, or call local pest company, like orcan.

  3. Good reply from previous poster.  When you use any product indoors especially where kids and pets are concerned, read, understand and follow the directions exactly.

Some good indoor products are made by Bayer Advanced, Ortho, and Spectracide.  Most are the products share the same active ingredients or at least the same family of chemicals.

I'd treat possible entry points such as garage to house door frame, window sills and ledges and areas around outside doors and windows.  Also, a good sweeping around your garage to remove any nesting sites can help.

Most of the insecticides will work, but you may have to re-apply more frequently than the manufacturer recommends to get good control.  Most claim 6 months to 1 year control, but I'd use every 90 days from now until frost or cold weather.  In spring you can apply in early April and then every 90 days for excellent control.

    Remember...read,understand, follow!

    Good Luck
