As a woman I have always felt that deep down America is still very sexist. I mean women in sports is still non-existent for the most part, so are women CEOs, women in politics, women's pay etc. I am not black though, so I don't have that experience. Anyways in your opinion what are you discriminated more for?

  1. Sexism certainly doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Hilary Clinton ran for president, and we've had a female vice president, currently have a woman running for vice president. Oprah Winfrey is black and not only is she the richest woman in American media, she's one of the richest women (white or black) in the WORLD. Also many women are now C.E.Os of large companies in the U.S.A..   Racism is still around, however even it isn't as bad of an issue as it once was

  2. I have spent several months in America in different states and I was overwhelmed by racism towards the Hispanic and black American people . And recently I have noticed a lot of racism from the Americans to the British (mostly English ) on this site .Its as if some Americans hate the world at the moment.

  3. I disagree.  Hilary was running for president.  Some women are becoming CEOs more now than ever and it will just take time.  Eventually it will be different.

As far as race, I think it is very hard for some blacks to make it and seems to be a ongoing issue.  I am white and have no problem with blacks but some people do.

  4. Yes both, I read this black women who was bothered at work from white males and they would make sexist jokes like women don't belong in this type of job, and then say slang things only to her and make up rap and so on. Which is very insulting to think were all rap loving black women who can't handle jobs like (fireman, police, ect.) because were women at the same time.

But yes those are the main big ones, also women are paided less then males and black women are paided even lower then white females.

  5. They have it tough because not only are they a minority but they are also a woman but look at connie rice she became the Secretary of state

do not believe all the hype that they are at a disadvantage anyone can achive anything u just have believe you can

  6. I am a bit surprised that you only want to hear from black women, believe me white women and other women might have a voice in this as well. Racism and sexism affects all women, all Americans.

  7. rasism

  8. interesting quiestion , for me it's racism. I'm  a nurse and it's utterly pathetic the kind of racism I have come up against not only from patients and family members, but even co-workers. It's 2008 and wow it blows my mind at just how much ignorance there still is.
