  1. The CURVE!

    It is amazing.

You won't need wifi, because your data package will include unlimited internet with their actual service.  Wifi is only needed if you're too cheap to get the data package... which if you are, you're really not getting the right kind of phone :)  All of the cool functions require the data package.

  2. Blackberry curve fo sure;)

  3. Disappointed with the Blackberry. Was talking to someone the other day who had one and when they received an email I got a sound like a lawnmower followed by white noise then I got cut off and had to ring back. Unimpressed.

  4. Love my Blackberry curve have had zero problems with it, but if you can wait until july or so because a new blackberry will be comeing out with much better features than the current blackberry versions.

  5. If you are going to need access to Microsoft Word right out of the box then you will want to go with the XV6800 or XV6900. Both come with Windows Mobile Professional 6 which allows for creating and editing Microsoft Word documents. The BlackBerry does not have this functionality right out of the box.

I would most likely recommend the XV6800 because it comes with a real physical keypad. You stated that you would be doing a lot of texting, and the XV6900 comes with a virtual touch keypad. You could probably get used to it in time, but I still prefer a physical keypad. The XV6800 also has Wi-Fi built in so you could connect to your campus' network.
