Question:

Blackberry 8308 voice command help?

Ok here's the story, I have a blackberry 8308 on the verizon wireless network. With all the phones I have had, they have had a voice command feature. This would allow you to say things like "call john" or "lookup mary". I used this feature a lot. Now on my blackberry, I can't seem to find it anywhere!

Can someone please tell me whether or not there is a voice command feature, and if so tell me how I can access it.

Also, just a few things to keep in mind, I am using a blackberry 8308, and I am on the verizon wireless network. Oh, I also went to help on the blackberry and looked up voice command, but it only returned about how to use voice command using a bluetooth device, which I do not I have. I would think if they have it for bluetooth, they should have it for just regular voice command without a bluetooth headset.

Thanks for the help!!

  1. I have never ever heard of a "Blackberry 8308" and I can't find any reference anywhere to such a model.

I'm assuming you mean either the "Blackberry 8830" or the "Blackberry 8330".

In both of those devices, there's an application called "Voice Dial" which you run, and then you simply say "Call (contact name)"

The convenience key on the left side of the 8330 -- by default -- is set to launch the Voice Dial application.  The 8830 only has one convenience key, but that's also set by default to run the Voice Dial.

So for both handhelds, press the convenience key on the left and then give your voice dial command.

    Hope this helps.
