Blackberry Curve 8310 questions?

I have been looking into getting a Blackberry from at&t and I am looking at buying the AT&T blackberry curve. My first question is when you buy it from AT&T did they brand it to where the start up is that weird windows mobile 6 screen? I was reading through the radio shack add and they were advertising the blackberry curve and they had a theme that looked a lot like windows mobile 6, I really want to have the normal blackberry theme and menus because i find them cool looking. My second question is does the phone alert you of any missed calls or texts? I was reading a review on day and someone said there phone wouldn't alert them if they missed a call or text?

theres  no  windows software  on the 8310 or any other bb.. there  are alerts for text email yahoo messages  etc  as  for  missed  calls  the red lcd  will  flash and a icon on screen  saying u missed a call

that ad in the radioshack paper was a mistake, the blackberrys do not have windows mobile.  it does alert you if you do have a missed call or a text.  the red light flashes when you have a missed text.  and if that not enough when you look at your phone it displays small logos on the phone.
