Blackberry Curve 8330 can you separate email from SMS texts?

I don't want my emails to show up both in the Messages application AND the email application. Is there any way to make the messages application just show text messages?

Yep! Go to messages, hit the BlackBerry button, then click options, then General Options, then scroll down to SMS and Email Inboxes, and click seperate!
