Blackberry Pearl Problem!!!?

I was working last night, and I pulled my pearl out of my pocket, and the screen is black and the red light is flashing. Once when I got home, I took the battery out and put it back in and the while screen with an hourglass shined for a second, then back to black w/ the led flashing. That happened over and over and one the whole thing was back on for a moment but it's back to where it was. The battery was not low at all when it happened. It was at about half.

take out the battery there should be a square on the battery that looks like a whiteish color. If it has pink in that square it means your phone has water damage. But to me it sounds like your operating system got corrupted take it to your local tech store(for the company your phone is through) they should be able to fix it, if not if you have insurance you'll pay a 50doller deductible and get a refurbished pearl.  It may also be your battery going.
