Ok so it's happened 4 different days. I'll go to see my call log and nothing! then my texts and they are all deleted! I've had the phone a few weeks. Today it has deleted the history twice. Anyone know how to make this stop?

  1. You have run out of memory and so it cleans itself up that way.  Move everything you can onto a memory card.  Delete things you don't need like the foreign languages, the BB promo video, etc.  Then back up your device on the computer using the BB desktop manager that all came with it.  Then wipe your BB clean.  Go to options < security options < general settings < press the BB menu key (left of the trackball)< wipe device < type blackberry.  Once that is completed, hook it back up to the computer and restore the device.

  2. This is caused by the device having a low amount (or none at all) of memory. When the memory gets lower (lower than 12MB in some cases, although there is not a set number) the device will start deleting messages and/or call logs to conserve memory. You can check your available memory by going to Options > Status and checking the File Free parameter.

The quickest way to free up some memory is to perform a hard reset. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on) for about 30 seconds, then reinsert. Also, look at the links below for ways to maximize the memory:

  3. Yep, you are out of memory. You MUST have a SD Media card with your blackberry.  Out of the box, you dont have much memory to do much of anything, especially if you are saving emails, taking pictures, and havent cleaned your internet cache.

Go to your options, Media, and do a diagnostic run and see how much space you have used and have available.

When you have no space, your phone will do some strange and annoying things!

  4. i've honestly never had that happen to mine. call the service where you got it from and ask them. It'll probably solve your problem
