Blackberry Pearl help.?

I recently bought a Blackberry Pearl 8100, and it worked great until today. When texting, others letters are typed that were not pushed and when trying to dial wrong numbers come up. I tried to wipe handheld, however my menu button won't work, it only types a 3. Same thing happens when I push down the pearl, it types a 2 instead of selecting what I would like.

Also, in the upper right hand corner the word, "edge" is there ad only when that's up there, I'm allowed to make calls.

PLEASE HELP! I go crazy without my phone working, especially texting. :(

That's a phone defect. Take it back and they should exchange it for a refurbished device or a new one if you go through insurance (and pay the $50 fee, depending on your service provider). The Pearl is notorious for that problem.

my friend has a pearl and he has the same problem the reason is because of what the keys are made of , they go soft after using them for a while and they move around and make the keys hard to push and sometimes type the wrong thing,thats just on the pearl though(i dunno why they made all other blackberry keys out of hard plastic except this one)
