Blackberry curve on Vista?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 and am trying to set up the desktop manager on my computer with Vista but I can't seem to get it working. The software installs just fine from the AT&T website but I can't find it anywhere, so I reinstalled it and clicked on the go to applications button but it can't even find my blackberry even though it's plugged in. My Blackberry version is 4.2.2.170, does anybody know if there's a problem with Vista or how to fix it or is BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.312 the wrong program?

  1. The Handheld software 4.2.2.312 is only needed if you want to re-load your operating system on the phone. You need DESKTOP MANAGER.

    I suggest downloading the Desktop Manager v4.3 from blackberry, here is the link:
