Question:

Blackberry help?

My Blackberry seems to have died because of getting slightly wet. I grabbed it while my hands were still wet and now it doesn't work. I can't click any of the buttons and it seems like the roller ball thing is the only thing that still works besides the screen. I can receive calls, but I can't answer them and I can't select anything on my screen.

Is this fixable or do I need to get a replacement?

  1. take the back off take the battery and sim card out take a blow dryer to it an in a couple hours if not sooner I'm sure it will work although they arent usually that senitive.

  2. Take it to your service provider and see what they will do. If it's under warranty, they'll replace it. BlackBerrys are notoriously susceptible to water damage and my friend literally broke his phone just by holding it too close to his head and sweating. Granted, he's a sweaty guy and it's summer...but that's not acceptable! Anyway, BB (or Verizon, I don't know who specifically) replaced his phone and that was that.

One other note: BlackBerry has a policy (unadvertised, of course) where they will give you a completely new, free phone if you've had your previous BB replaced more than three times. In other words, totally free upgrade on them if their unreliable phones don't work on a regular basis.
