Blackberry msger and AIM not working on 8320!?

Question

I don't know why, but my blackberry msger and my other IMing devices are not working.

I cannot use my blackberry msger bcos when i go to add a contact, another box pops up and it says SELECT A CONTACT and below it says *EMPTY* and CANCEL.

i cannot use my AIM bcos it says " please visit www.blackberry.com/aim to activate your handheld for AOL instant messenger. however, when i DO go to that website, it doesn't have an option for me to activate it.

i cannot use yahoo bcos it says "service not enabled for this hand held"

i've been reading about SERVICE BOOKS in other forums, what is that exactly? can somebody help me with my problems? =( thank you!

and also make sure you have the right data plan for you device.

The right top corner should show you EDGE or GPRS

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan, or are you just using Wi-Fi for browsing? In order for AOL and BlackBerry Messenger to work you need to have a BlackBerry data plan.

go to options > advance options > host routing table > hit menu > register now

or

go to www.eqo.com and download 3rd party application with 5 different IM.
