Blackberry pearl screen - leak?

Question

the screen of my blackberry pearl is leaking a dark colored substance from behind, the screen is not cracked.. my phone has never been dropped.

will the manufacturer warranty cover this?

i called verizon and they told me to do all these ridiculous things that won't fix my problem, seriously now, downloading software on my computer won't fix my leaking screen. i hung up, i'm not dealing with them.

help !

Your first option would be to take it to the Verizon store if that's where you bought the phone and explain the situation. Show them that the screen is NOT cracked and that it seems to be a factory defect.

If they will not cover it under warranty, you can either buy the parts and fix it yourself (pdaparts.com) which includes a how-to video, or sell yours for parts on ebay and buy a used one. Depends on how tekky you are...

Calling a place almost never gets the job done.

If you can go to the store that you bought it from. If they refuse to send it back to the company to have it fixed or exchange you one right then, then say you'll take your business elsewhere. I've had to say that before and it got me the service I wanted.

If they refuse to fix it, I'd switch companies OR pay $50 to upgrade to a newer phone.
