Blackberry re-initialization?

Question

My friend gave me his blackberry because my phone is broken.How do I reinitialize the phone?? I put my sim card and tried to use it but i cant access all the applications.

Is there a code to reset it??

By the way it is a blackberry pearl 8100

You have a few choices.

Go into your Options > Security > General Settings. From here, hit the Blackberry Key (the key to the left of the trackball), and hit "Wipe Device"

WARNING: This will erase all data on your phone and reset it to factory settings.

You also have the choice of plugging the Blackberry into the computer, and simply installing the entire Operating System. Go to your carriers website, and they will have a link to download the most current Operating System for your Blackberry Pearl. Once you download and install the application, go into your Desktop Manager, and a message will pop up saying that there is a new version available. Install, and you're good to go.
