Blackburn Rovers midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Dunn-c10475 has urged the club owners Venky’s to start communication with the fans to end the distance between the two parties.
Poultry giants Venky’s are the first Indian owners of a Premier League side, having bought the club in November 2010. Their first task as owners was to remove manager Sam Allardyce and instate Steve Kean as the manager of the club.
However, the fans have not been happy under the ownership of Venky’s and have been organizing various protests after the poor start to the season. Dunn believed their issues could be resolved after more participation by the owners in matters of the club.
Dunn revealed in an interview:
“The fans have been criticised from all ends of the country. But in the last few games they've been fantastic, right behind us.
I understand totally there need to be some decisions made. It's the owners' decision but there needs to be communication - that's what the fans want.”
The 32-year-old refused to blame the fans, who he believed had been very supportive in the last few fixtures for Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385. He revealed he understood why they weren’t happy and expected the owners to step in and sort things out.
In fact, Dunn admitted the fans had been fantastic for the club as long as they kept their protests under control and out of the ground. He believed that brought the team more confidence and increased their chances of securing wins.
He continued:
“The fans have always been great for me but if they can keep their protests outside the ground, we play with more confidence.
So let's clear all the rubbish out and try to build up this great club again. If everyone sticks together we can go on from here.”
Dunn finished by saying that like the fans, he wanted to work towards building a future for the club and he did not think that could be achieved without the help of the owners. He was certain the club could recover from their poor form and avoid relegation
come end of the current season.
